With more than 15 years of industry experience and over a decade in teaching and research, I offer specialised, practice-oriented expertise across (almost) all areas of wind energy. This includes technology, planning, construction, energy marketing, economics, acceptance, public participation, inter-municipal cooperation, cross-border projects, regional energy agreements, nature conservation, and wind energy in forests along with many other specialist topics. As an independent expert, I work with stakeholders from politics, business, science and civil society. This broad experience has given me a deep understanding of the dynamics of the wind industry – and strengthened my ability to communicate complex topics with clarity and relevance.
My training and practice in debating have sharpened my skills in structured argumentation and persuasive communication. I have also deepened my knowledge of confident delivery and the impact of body and voice through additional training at the Royal Academy of Drama and Arts (RADA Business).
My approach brings together strategic thinking, technical expertise and the craft of a compelling, credible presence.

A wind farm with 40 turbines raises a multitude of questions and objections among concerned residents. Providing clear, comprehensible and trustworthy answers was the task entrusted to Dr Anne Kress during her expert presentation. She fulfilled this task exceptionally well.

Her calm, friendly and factual manner immediately created an atmosphere of attentive listening. With evident expertise and great command of the topic, she presented the subject of wind energy in a way that was both concise and highly accessible. What particularly stood out was the way she linked the figures and facts to clear explanations without getting lost in unnecessary detail. Even in the subsequent open discussion, she was able to address every question competently and with clarity all while conveying complex issues without heightened emotion. In her keynote “Wind Energy in the Forest – Reality & Perception: Why Our Emotions Play Such a Significant Role”, delivered at the 10th session of the WindRat, Prof Dr Anne Kress offered a profound and compelling analysis of why the topic of wind energy in forests elicits such strong emotional reactions. By combining ecological facts with insights into human behaviour and communication, she shed clear and informative light on the central question: “How do we engage with wind energy in the forest?” while at the same time presenting constructive solution-oriented perspectives.

Her presentation provided the members of the WindRat with valuable support for their on-the-ground work, enabling them to gain new, practical ways of thinking and acting. It was regarded by all stakeholders as enormously enriching.

As part of our expert dialogue “Wind Power in the Forest” at the Natural History Museum Vienna, Prof Dr Anne Kress delivered a keynote entitled “Wind.Wood.Values.” which provided a central and thought-provoking impulse. Her scientifically grounded and at the same time practice-oriented presentation of the opportunities and challenges of ecological wind-energy development in forested areas was greatly appreciated by participants from politics, public administration, forestry, energy, planning and environmental organisations alike.
 
We were particularly impressed by her clear, well-structured approach to a highly complex and sometimes contentious topic – engaging, understandable and solution-oriented. In a debate that was at times polarised, Prof Kress managed to widen perspectives and offer practical courses of action. Without resorting to dramatic rhetoric, she succeeded in fostering a constructive discussion atmosphere which made the subsequent dialogue exceptionally enriching.
 
Her contribution was a genuine asset to our event – and for everyone striving to find lasting solutions that balance climate protection, ecological integrity and social acceptance..

As an important independent voice in the Bavarian wind-energy sector, the BWE Bavaria organised a specialist symposium on “Wind Energy in the Forest” in autumn 2024. As a long-standing expert in the field, Prof Dr Anne Kress delivered a keynote on “Why Wind Moves Us in the Forest”.

Drawing on her extensive experience as a communication specialist in challenging contexts, she presented complex interrelationships clearly and convincingly. Above all, she encouraged the audience to participate actively and to enter into an open and transparent dialogue – free from preconceived positions.
